Nara restaurant, a Japanese sushi grill, is a unique addition to the Kansas City Crossroads Art district. The name Nara was inspired by an ancient Japanese city famous for urban tranquility. The environment of the restaurant is aimed to balance those two elements.
The environment is all about a pure display. Owner Casey Adams wanted the food to speak for itself, allowing the customers full experience of everything behind the scene. His design and his food were all encompassed in a purpose of "bringing something unique with great atmosphere to the Kansas City."
The location at 1617 Main Street was chosen because Adams wanted an old and historic building to renovate. His contribution to the city's beautification as opposed to building something new was an important factor in creating the restaurant. And for location? Adams chose a spot in his own neighborhood in the Crossroads.
Nara presents a menu of traditional sushi and nigiri along with Japanese style tapas using the highest quality products and ingredients. A carefully curated sake list is accompanied by select natural wines and essential Japanese and local craft beers.
